Chili con Carne

Chili con Carne is a hearty dish that delights with its spicy flavor and filling consistency, perfect for family dinners or meal prep.

Ingredients

  • 500g ground beef
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 bell pepper, diced
  • 1-2 chili peppers, to taste
  • 1 can kidney beans, drained
  • 1 can chopped tomatoes
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Oil for frying (e.g. olive oil)

Instructions

  1. Heat the oil in a large pot and sauté the diced onion and minced garlic until translucent.
  2. Add the ground beef and cook until browned and fully cooked.
  3. Stir in the bell pepper and chili peppers, cooking briefly until the pepper softens.
  4. Mix in the tomato paste, cumin, and paprika to enhance the flavors.
  5. Add the chopped tomatoes and drained kidney beans.
  6. Season with salt and pepper and simmer over medium heat for about 20 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
  7. Serve as desired, with fresh bread or rice.
